Future Image and Forbes TO jointly
showcase Visual Communication
through executive SUMMIT,
special magazine section
SAN MATEO, CA –
August 12, 2002 – Forbes, the nation’s leading business magazine, and
Future Image, the leading provider of digital imaging information and
analysis, will jointly spotlight one of the key emerging business
trends of the 21st Century -Visual Communication- at a
by-invitation only Summit for senior level (VP and above) executives,
to be held in New York on October 1 and 2.
The Summit
entitled “Visual Communication: Infoimaging At Work” will be closely
followed by the release of a special section of the same name in the
October 14, 2002 issue of Forbes magazine. Both the Summit and the
Special Section will highlight the growing importance of integrated
visual content as a tool for businesses of every size and description
to communicate more effectively with
customers, suppliers, stakeholders, and employees.
“I heard about
the Visual Communication concept, and >>
asked Alexis Gerard, president of Future Image, to create a
section for > our
>> magazine introducing the concept
to our readers,” said Tim Forbes, Chief Operating Officer of Forbes
Inc. “Given the importance of the topic, we also thought a conference,
bringing together early adopters and infoimaging industry executives
and leaders, would provide a valuable opportunity to the business
community at large.”
Unlike conventional industry events, the “Visual Communication:
Infoimaging At Work” Summit will showcase not vendors, but users:
Executives from Procter & Gamble, Ford Motors, and Kemper Insurance
will explain how their companies have applied infoimaging
devices, infrastructures and media/services to create pioneering
Visual Communication solutions, and analyze the bottom line results.
Participants will have the opportunity to discuss how the experiences
of these companies can be extended to other business sectors. Dan
Carp, CEO and Chairman, Eastman Kodak Company, will deliver a keynote
address.
“Business
executives are becoming increasingly aware that visual communication
technologies are of vital importance to their future,” said Alexis
Gerard, president of Future Image Inc. "The coming information shift -
from the written or spoken word alone to enhanced visual content -
builds on the technology adoption patterns of the last decade. The
digitization of picture taking combined with the emergence of a global
telecommunications infrastructure for disseminating digitized
information, empower virtually any businessperson to use images to
communicate faster and smarter in order to be more successful."
Summit proceedings will be available from Future Image. The “Visual
Communication: Infoimaging At Work” special section will
be available
online from the Forbes.com, VisualCommunication.info, and
FutureImage.com web sites.
